For riders who like to do their own thing there's nothing more exciting than hiring a reliable, late-model motorcycle and setting off into the unknown on an independent, self-guided motorcycle tour of New Zealand.   However, NZ is a small, diverse country with unpredictable routes.  During summer months the best accommodation, activities and attractions become fully booked. Furthermore, the time you have available may be wasted if you're not sure where you're going. A good alternative to motorcycle rental is to self-guide with a South Pacific Independent Tour.
